This large cot or lap quilt finishes at approx. 44" x 48". Although this design looks like its full of scary Y-seams, in facts it made up of just two shapes, a jewel and an equilateral triangle which are sewn together to make a diamond shape. These are then sewn into rows using clever placement to create this zig-zag effect.
This pattern is great for geometric prints, but would also look as impressive made in solids. Just make sure there is enough colour difference between the fabrics to bring out the desired zig-zag effect.
