Secret Flower Garden Quilt-in-a-Year

Welcome to Sewmotion's Secret Flower Garden Quilt - a slow-stitch masterclass over 12 months to create a stunning heirloom quilt. 

This quilt finishes at approx. 62" x 66", and is hand-pieced using curved English paper-piecing with a quilt-as-you-go-construction. Use bespoke Sewmotion pre-cut shapes to make up three different flower designs in various co-ordinating colourways - 19 main blocks in total, plus 23 more for the outside border flowers. Each of these blocks are then hand quilted individually and then joined together using a nifty quilt-as-you-go technique - this project really is a hand piecer's dream (though a little machine sewing is needed towards the end).

As you can see, this project is so much more than a block-of-the-month, so I've decided to call it a Quilt-in-a-Year :) As we all hand sew at our own pace, this takes the pressure off having to finish a certain amount each month. Instead, it's more of a slow-stitch masterclass over 12months to create a stunning heirloom quilt.

Over the following 12 months you will receive;

• Comprehensive instructions breaking down these advanced techniques into manageable sections. I will take you through hand piecing for curved English paper-piecing, big-stitch hand quilting, and then how to join each block using the QAYG technique.
• A full set of pre-cut EPP papers so you won't have to reuse any during the project.  

Fabrics are not included in this subscription, you will recieve a diagram to plan your own layout, or you can substitute your own for the ones I used - you will need approx. 40cm x wof of 12 fabrics, or 50cm of 10 fabrics for the blocks, plus around 5.5m of background fabrics.

I have some bundle options available here including Alison Glass, Petite Fleur and Spectrum Solids. I also have a set of Acrylic Templates available on here - while not essential, do make cutting out so much easier!
