Curve Appeal Wall Hanging Kit in Conway Cottage

Find a cosy spot on the sofa and relax into this wonderful hand-sewing project featuring my favourite technique, curved English paper-piecing. Learn how piece your shapes together using a flat back stitch, before appliquéing them onto the background, and finishing off with some gorgeous decorative big-stitch hand quilting.

This pattern is aimed at the intermediate sewist, although with full colour, easy-to-follow instructions, you will soon pick up the technique.

Included in this kit;

• Seven 4¼” x 21” strips from Andover's Conway Cottage collection

• Three 2.5" x WOF (width of fabric) strips in co-ordinating prints

• Set of pre-cut papers (included)

• 50cm x wof of background fabric

• 20cm x wof of fabric for the binding, cut into three 2¼“ x wof strips

You will also need;

• Temporary fabric glue pen available here

 • Thread for piecing - I recommend a 50wt cotton available here

• Optional - a set of acrylic templates to accompany this project which help with precise cutting and are also great for fussy-cutting

• Gentle fabric starch

• 23” x 40“ piece of wadding and if you choose to hand quilt, the same of butter muslin or similar fine fabric

 • 60cm x wof of backing fabric

 • If you are using the acrylic templates, you will need a 18mm rotary cutter and a rotating cutting mat is very useful but optional

• Basic sewing kit - including fine long pins, a sewing needle (I recommend Sharps, but use a size you are comfortable with), a fabric marker or pencil, paper and fabric scissors, an embroidery needle and a thimble (optional).
