Curve Motion Medallion Block-of-the-Month Quilt

This beautiful quilt is one for lovers of hand sewing, a great slow project spread over 16 months. Each of the rings is constructed using curved English paper-piecing, and then appliquéd onto a grey background square (from Makower).

As the quilt is constructed in the quilt-as-you-go method, you can quilt each of the individual blocks before sewing them together, you could hand quilt as I did with beautiful embroidery-like big stitches, or maybe go to town with some free-motion machine quilting - the choice is yours! 

Each month you will receive the relevant Alison Glass Sun Prints fabrics, plus a grey background square for each block, pre-cut paper templates and step-by-step colour photos and instructions on how to make up each block. I then show you how to put the whole quilt together, complete with binding, which is supplied in the final month.

Finished quilt size: Approx. 82" square.

Skill level: Experienced hand-piecer.

You will also need;
• 6m backing fabric
• 3m of 90" wadding
• Thread for piecing and for quilting - I use Aurifil's 50wt cotton for piecing and a 12wt for hand quilting. You can purchase a medium grey 50wt thread here which should blend into all your colours for piecing, or if you prefer to colour match, I have put together a collection of six Aurifil threads here. If you choose to hand-quilt as I did, I also stock the Ivory Aurifil 12wt here. 

If you sign up to this BOM you are committing to the whole programme. 

This first payment of £40 (£38.05 plus the £1.95 postage paid at checkout) secures your place in the BOM (there are limited spots) and also pays for your last instalment in the 16th month. This will then be followed by;

• If you are in the UK, you will then pay 15 instalments of £27.00 (includes postage) to be collected by Direct Debit. 

• If you are in the EU, you will then pay 15 instalments of £29.00 (includes postage) to be collected by Direct Debit. 

• If you are in the Rest of the World, you will then pay 15 instalments of £30.00 (includes postage) to be collected by Direct Debit.

Once you have joined you will be sent a subscription form via 'Go Cardless' who process payments on my behalf. Fill in your details and your Direct Debit will be set up and will start around the 10th of the following month, with your fabrics going out around the 14th.
